Some Cars Become More Interesting After They're Gone.

The F87 BMW M2 Competition is one of them.

Compact.

Rear-wheel drive.

Straight-six.

Available with three pedals.

Just enough technology.

And absolutely no confusion about what it was built to do.

The AutoStuhl M2 Competition Edition begins with a matching pair of authentic M Sport seats removed from an F87 BMW M2 Competition with only approximately 5,000 miles.

They are in exceptional, like-new condition.

The original electronic modules are included.

And there are exactly two.

We aren't recreating them.

We aren't upholstering replicas.

We're taking genuine BMW M seating and giving it an entirely different second life.

Welcome to the AutoStuhl M2 Competition Edition.

405 HP.

Rear-Wheel Drive.

And A Proper M Seat.

When BMW created the M2 Competition, it didn't simply give the existing M2 a little more power and add a badge.

BMW reached into the M3 and M4 parts bin for something considerably more serious.

The S55.

A twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six producing 405 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque in North American specification.

BMW gave it serious cooling.

Serious brakes.

An Active M Differential.

A standard six-speed manual gearbox, with M DCT available for those who preferred it.

And then BMW gave the interior something equally important.

A proper M Sport seat.

THE SEAT WAS PART OF THE CAR'S PERSONALITY.

BMW described the M2 Competition's seat as borrowing heavily from motorsport.

Integrated headrest.

Pronounced support.

Distinctive M detailing.

And perhaps its best piece of theatre:

the illuminated M2 emblem integrated into the backrest.

It's unmistakable.

You don't have to explain to a BMW enthusiast what they're looking at.

They know.

And that's exactly why we wanted to build an AutoStuhl around it.

Have You Ever Had A Sore Butt From Sitting On An Airplane Too Long?

This Is The Opposite Of That Experience.

Racing-inspired doesn't have to mean punishment.

BMW engineered the M2 Competition to be something increasingly unusual:

A genuinely serious driver's car that could still be used every day.

Its seating had to accomplish the same thing.

Hold you properly when the road became interesting.

Remain comfortable when the road wasn't.

And do both without feeling like an ordinary sedan seat.

Which raises the question that started AutoStuhl in the first place:

Why should all that automotive seat engineering stop being useful when you get out of the car?

BMW BUILT THE SEAT.

AUTOSTUHL BUILDS THE CHAIR.

This distinction is everything.

There is a cheap way to turn a car seat into an office chair.

You can buy a mass-produced imported swivel base for a few dollars, fabricate an adapter and bolt the seat onto it.

Technically, you've made a chair.

We wanted to make an AutoStuhl.

So we start underneath.

A purpose-built fabricated steel foundation.

Substantial structural components.

Heavy-duty casters.

Carefully engineered mounting.

Individually finished components.

Hand assembly.

BMW M2 car-seat office chair by AutoStuhl — The Competition Edition detail

Construction designed around longevity rather than the lowest possible manufacturing cost.

Because putting an authentic BMW M seat on a disposable office-chair base would be ridiculous.

The foundation has to deserve the seat.

THIS ONE IS FOR THE DRIVERS.

There are automobiles people buy because of the badge.

And there are automobiles enthusiasts quietly understand.

The F87 M2 Competition has increasingly become the latter.

Compact proportions.

Rear-wheel drive.

An engine with genuine M3/M4 lineage.

A manual transmission available.

Enough power to be properly fast without turning the driver into a passenger.

It represents a particular moment in BMW M history.

And these seats represent the place from which all of it was experienced.

ABOUT 5,000 MILES.

That's an important number.

These aren't tired seats removed from a heavily used donor car after a decade of abuse.

The matching pair is reported to have approximately 5,000 miles of use and to remain in like-new condition.

Everything is reported to function correctly.

The original modules accompany the seats.

That gives us something unusually good to begin with.

And with AutoStuhl, what we begin with matters.

USE IT.

PLEASE.

We aren't building a pedestal for an M2 seat.

We're building a chair.

Sit in it.

Work in it.

Take calls in it.

Read in it.

Lean back in it.

Put it behind your desk.

In your home office.

Your study.

Your boardroom.

Your automotive collection.

Your garage.

Or beside your own M2.

Automotive engineering was created to be experienced.

We see no reason to stop now.

SOME OBJECTS DESERVE AN INTRODUCTION.

A client walks into your office.

They notice the chair.

Someone who knows BMW looks a little closer.

Then they see the seat.

The shape.

The integrated headrest.

The M detailing.

And that unmistakable M2 emblem.

Then comes the question:

“Is that actually an M2 Competition seat?”

Yes.

Approximately 5,000 miles.

Matching original pair.

Only two AutoStuhls.

This is one of them.

That's the moment we build for.

Because AutoStuhl isn't furniture intended to disappear into a room.

It's furniture people ask you to explain.

01 OF 02.

AND 02 OF 02.

There are two.

Not an artificial limited edition of 500.

Not a marketing department's definition of "exclusive."

Two authentic seats from one matching set.

Each becomes an individually numbered AutoStuhl M2 Competition Edition.

01 / 02

02 / 02

Commission one.

Or keep the original pair together.

Once one is spoken for individually, the opportunity to own both is gone.

Simple as that.

ONE OF TWO.

MADE ONE OF ONE.

The seat provides the automotive story.

Now we add yours.

BMW M2 car-seat office chair by AutoStuhl — The Competition Edition detail

Every AutoStuhl M2 Competition Edition can be commissioned with our bespoke Signature Panels, precision laser-cut from stainless steel specifically for its owner.

Your corporate logo.

Your family crest.

Your initials.

Your racing number.

Your favorite road.

A meaningful date.

A verse.

A motto.

A signature.

Your company's founding year.

A personal accomplishment.

Or the details of your own BMW M car.

Perhaps it's your M2's chassis number.

Perhaps its silhouette.

Perhaps the coordinates of the track where you spent an unforgettable weekend.

Perhaps nobody else needs to understand it.

That's what makes it personal.

YOUR M2.

EVEN IF THIS SEAT DIDN'T COME FROM IT.

For an M2 owner, there's another possibility.

Commission the chair around your automobile.

We can design the Signature Panels to reference your own M2's identity and story.

Its specification.

Its year.

Its silhouette.

Its chassis number.

A significant drive.

A circuit.

Your racing number.

Your initials.

Suddenly, an authentic M2 Competition seat becomes something much more personal.

An AutoStuhl celebrating your M2.

KEEP THE M LIGHT ALIVE.

There's a detail on these seats that deserves special treatment.

The illuminated M2 emblem.

BMW put it there because the seat wasn't supposed to look generic.

Neither is the AutoStuhl.

Where technically feasible with the supplied modules and independent electronics, our objective is to preserve applicable original powered and illuminated functions in the finished commission.

We will test and document exactly which functions operate independently before final delivery.

We don't promise electronics until we've engineered them.

But when an original feature can properly be preserved, we believe it should be.

CERTIFICATE OF PROVENANCE

Every AutoStuhl M2 Competition Edition receives its own Certificate of Provenance.

Not a generic authenticity card.

A permanent record of the individual piece.

Its AutoStuhl commission number.

Its original automotive seat provenance.

Its approximately 5,000-mile donor history.

Its configuration.

Its completion date.

Its materials and finishes.

Its bespoke Signature Panel artwork.

Its original commission.

Because if we're building something we expect people to care about decades from now, its history should begin on paper today.

BUILT FOR THE PERSON WHO WANTS IT NOTICED.

AutoStuhl isn't trying to make invisible office furniture.

Quite the opposite.

We build for the person who enjoys watching someone walk into the room and notice something unexpected.

The entrepreneur.

The enthusiast.

The collector.

The designer.

The executive.

The person who cares about mechanical things.

And particularly the person who takes a little pleasure from owning something their visitor hasn't seen before.

There are excellent office chairs that disappear beautifully into a room.

This isn't one of them.

THE GIFT FOR THE BMW PERSON WHO HAS EVERYTHING.

They already have the model cars.

The M jacket.

The artwork.

The books.

The watch.

Maybe they already have the M2.

So what exactly do you give them next?

How about an authentic approximately 5,000-mile M2 Competition seat transformed into an individually numbered AutoStuhl, personalized specifically around them?

That's considerably harder to predict.

And considerably harder to forget.

WORK.

HOME.

COLLECTION.

The M2 Competition Edition works wherever you want people to notice it.

Behind an executive desk.

Inside a home office.

In a private study.

Across from your desk as the chair every visitor wants.

In an automotive showroom.

Inside a private garage.

Beside an M collection.

Or simply in the room where you spend most of your day.

It doesn't need an automotive environment.

It brings one with it.
