Shipping & Delivery
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Every AutoStuhl is crated and delivered as oversized, white-glove freight. This policy explains how shipping is quoted, how long it takes, and what to do on delivery.
White-Glove Freight
Because an AutoStuhl is heavy, oversized furniture — a finished chair weighs approximately 62 lb (28 kg) on a roughly 30 in (76 cm) five-star steel base — it ships crated by specialist freight, not standard parcel. Shipping within the contiguous United States is our standard service; for Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories, a surcharge applies.
How Freight Is Quoted
At checkout we provide a freight estimate based on your ZIP code and the distance from our workshop. This estimate is shown as part of your total and is clearly marked “final freight confirmed at fulfillment.” We confirm the final freight amount before your card is charged in full, so there are no surprises.
Build & Transit Times
Typical build time is 8–9 weeks, as each chair is hand-built to your commission. Freight transit is additional and varies by destination. We will keep you updated and provide tracking or a scheduled delivery window where available. All timeframes are good-faith estimates, not guarantees.
Delivery & Scheduling
Our freight partner will typically contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. Please ensure someone 18 or older is available to receive and inspect the piece, and that the delivery location is accessible. You are responsible for providing a complete, accurate delivery address; re-delivery or address-correction charges resulting from an incorrect address may be passed on to you.
Inspection & Damage Claims
Please inspect your crate and chair at the time of delivery. If you see any damage, note it on the delivery paperwork and take photographs before the carrier leaves, then contact us within 48 hours at concierge@autostuhl.com with your order number and photos. Prompt reporting allows us to resolve freight-damage claims quickly. See also our Returns & Warranty policy.
Title & Risk of Loss
Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the address you provide.
International Orders
We currently ship within the United States. If you are outside the U.S. and wish to commission a piece, contact us at concierge@autostuhl.com to discuss export freight, duties, and taxes, which would be your responsibility.
